As a complete coffee addict this recipe is one of my absolute summer favourites. At this time of year when its warm outside I still need my coffee fix!

Iced coffee could not be easier to make and this is a great little recipe that can be put together in advance and tweaked to suit your taste buds.

I start with a litre bottle of semi skimmed milk, (almost full) and top it up to taste with that terrible but delicious, syrupy goodness that is condensed milk. Throw caution to the calorie count if the mood takes you! This sweetened milk was made for coffee, add to taste and give it all a really good shake to blend. Refrigerate your batch of sweetened milk until you are ready for it.

Take a cafetiere and add your ground coffee, (again to taste), but instead of adding hot water, add cold. Stir, then put the lid on but leave the plunger up and place in the fridge for at least 8 hours to cold brew your coffee.

That’s the prep out of the way.

When you are ready for a crisp glass of chilled iced coffee, simply plunge your cold brewed coffee, fill your glass to the top with ice cubes and pour yourself three quarters of a glass of coffee.Top it up with your sweetened milk, then mix well.

See – I told you it was ridiculously easy! – there is really nothing to it!

Take this basic recipe and adjust it however you like until you have perfected your own version.

A small quantity of grated nutmeg is a great twist and a scraping of vanilla pod compliments iced coffee wonderfully too… have fun, be creative and enjoy your coffee!
