The area beneath your stairs provides an often-overlooked space that can be used in a multitude of exciting ways. Indeed, in many a busy hallway, an understair opportunity awaits—perfectly situated to house additional storage for organisation of everyday items.
Depending on the layout of your home and the dimensions of the understairs area, there are countless ways to use this space creatively. For example, several of our latest projects have incorporated cabinetry under the staircase, and with our fully bespoke service we are able to make optimal use of the entire area with truly practical designs.
Most recently, we fitted a combination of deep, push to open drawers for the understairs area within a customer's kitchen, providing much-needed and fully tailored additional storage. Meanwhile, another wonderfully unique project featured an understair office space neatly concealed behind fluted Oak panels.
Below we share a peek behind the scenes at the GRK workshop of a kitchen larder cabinet in manufacture.
This particular unit features Oak drawer boxes and wine racks with adjustable shelving above. The doors and frame are manufactured in Tulip wood, with moisture resistant mdf panels for stability. These, along with the frames will later be painted to match in with the rest of the kitchen units.
Whether you dream of a cosy new space for a home office—or deep drawer storage for stashing away pots and pans under your kitchen staircase—GRK can work with you to design and manifest the on-of-a-kind cabinetry that is specific to your needs.
